Joshua comes from a chess family. His father even drew against the great Anotoly Karpov in one Olympiad. When he was 6 yrs old he was accompanying a cousin to a chess tournament, and that was the exact moment when he fell in love with this amazing sport. He is the youngest Grandmaster ever in Colombia and earned the title at the age 20.
Carlos learned to play chess with his dad when he was 9. He then registered at a chess school and started taking formal lessons and became one of the best players in his category at a national level.
Became a grandmaster when he was 23 years, he reached 2500 rating when he was 18 years old
In 2012, Andrew became Co-Champion for the Hong Kong National Chess Championship. He also got equal first in the Nation. Coach Andrew hails from New York, having coached several of their top chess teams.
He is a USCF Candidate Master with over 15 years of teaching experience and has taught at chess camps across the US Open U2100 in 2018.

With over a decade of experience teaching chess at all levels across the country, I am passionate about sharing the game I love. My teaching approach focuses on building confidence and inspiring players to reach their full potential.
Kylan began playing chess at the age of five with the T.H. Rogers Chess Club, quickly developing his skills and competing actively to achieve an impressive 1800 rating. In middle school, he transitioned to Baylor College of Medicine Academy at Ryan, where he founded the school’s chess club and helped lead the team to state titles.

In high school, Kylan expanded his contributions to the chess community through impactful service. He organized the first-ever chess tournament at DeBakey High School and co-founded the Aspiring Pawns Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching chess to children who lack access to resources.
As a registered tournament director, Kylan has demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and integrity. His commitment to chess continues into college, where he actively teaches students and coaches his university’s chess club, furthering his passion for the game and its ability to bring communities together.
